American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Dept travel contract at a Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and trauma/STEMI/stroke skills.

Work setting is a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah
-
48-bed Emergency Department with flex space, operating under a team nursing and Pod System model
-
Patient population includes ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, psychiatric, and substance abuse disorders, with common presentations including chest pain, abdominal pain, CHF, and sepsis
-
Patient ratios are 4:1 in the Main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track
-
Mid-shift schedule with rotating options: 10A–10P, 12P–12A, or 3P–3A (all 12-hour shifts)

Minimum of two weekends required per schedule

No on-call or float requirements

EMR: Cerner
-
Equipment used includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and Ultrasound Guided IV

Active NM or Compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC

Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required

Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required

ADN degree or higher required

A social worker and unit educator are assigned to the Emergency Department, supporting the care team

The facility is located in Farmington, NM — in the San Juan River Valley, approximately 1 hour from Durango, CO and 3 hours from Albuquerque, NM

The surrounding area offers outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, off-roading, and access to six National Parks
