Position Summary
The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transportation of commercial furniture, upholstery products, materials, and supplies to customer locations, job sites, vendors, and company facilities. This position represents Elegance Upholstery while interacting with customers and business partners and plays a key role in ensuring products are delivered in excellent condition and on schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Safely operate company vehicles while complying with all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
· Load, secure, transport, and unload furniture, millwork, seating, upholstery products, and related materials.
· Inspect vehicles before and after each trip and report maintenance or safety concerns.
· Verify delivery paperwork, packing slips, and purchase orders.
· Obtain customer signatures and complete delivery documentation.
· Coordinate delivery schedules with the Operations Manager and project teams.
· Assist with warehouse loading, unloading, inventory movement, and organization.
· Protect products from damage during transit.
· Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle.
· Communicate delays or customer concerns promptly.
· Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
· Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Education
· High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
· Minimum of three (3) years of professional driving experience preferred.
· Experience delivering commercial furniture, construction materials, or large products is a plus.
Experience in crate/packaging
· Experience operating pickup trucks, cargo vans, box trucks, or stake-bed trucks preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
· Valid California Driver License with an acceptable driving record.
· Ability to maintain insurability under the company's automobile insurance policy.
Preferred Qualifications
· Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
· Forklift certification or the ability to become certified is a plus.
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
