Field Service Operations Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and experienced Field Service Operations Manager to lead and coordinate field service activities while providing support to shop operations as needed. This role will oversee field crews, coordinate project execution, and serve as the primary connection between customers, field personnel, Engineering, Sales, Quality, and Shop Operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience with pressure vessel field work, ASME requirements, welding practices, and field crew leadership. This position offers the opportunity to play a key leadership role within a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee field service projects ranging from small crews to large-scale teams of 50+ personnel.
- Act as the primary field contact for customers, maintaining professional and effective communication throughout projects.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Sales, Quality, and Shop Operations to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.
- Provide timely field reports, project documentation, and operational updates to internal teams.
- Ensure all field activities comply with ASME, NBIC, OSHA, and applicable code requirements.
- Lead field safety efforts and reinforce site-specific safety procedures and standards.
- Maintain field tools, equipment, and assets to ensure crews are properly prepared for project deployment.
- Troubleshoot technical and operational issues in both field and shop environments.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Provide shop support when not assigned to field projects, including machining, fabrication, quality control, and other operational activities as needed.
- Participate in special projects, process improvements, and initiatives designed to improve operational efficiency.
- Obtain and maintain required certifications, including OSHA 30 and applicable industry certifications.
Qualifications
- Experience leading field crews and managing field service operations.
- Working knowledge of ASME welding practices and pressure vessel field work.
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and procedures.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in demanding field environments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers, field personnel, Engineering, Sales, and Shop Operations.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities.
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Project.
- Experience with ASME Section VIII and NBIC repairs/alterations preferred.
Travel Requirements
This position requires domestic and international travel based on project needs. Travel may range from approximately 20% to 100% annually, depending on workload and project demand.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
