Overview
Garden-Fresh Foods, LLC is a leading food manufacturing company based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, specializing in the production of ready-to-eat deli salads, dips, spreads, and desserts.
We are seeking a General Accounting Manager to join our Accounting team, reporting directly to the Controller. This role is responsible for overseeing the company’s financial accounting and operations.
Key responsibilities include preparing accurate financial reports in accordance with GAAP, maintaining a comprehensive system of internal controls to mitigate risk and safeguard company assets, performing product cost analyses to support pricing decisions, supervising accounting staff, and analyzing and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) and other financial data.
Duties
General Ledger and Financial Reporting:
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring reporting compliance with GAAP standards
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Support the preparation of financial statements and Monthly Performance Reporting Package
- Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed assets schedules to the general ledger. Track fixed asset spending and forecasting cash needs.
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations
General Accounting:
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation
- Prepare, analyze and report sales on a weekly basis.
- Assist Inventory Manager with monthly physicals including posting, analyzing and investigating variances, and reporting
- Support Production with weekly productivity reports and analysis
- Support Sales through costing and pricing calculations, analyses and reporting
- Assist the Controller and Management in evaluating overall company operations from a financial and accounting viewpoint
- Supports Controller and Management with other projects and tasks as needed
- Support budget and forecast process including ingredients, packaging, sales, department spend, and labor projections
- Banking activities including ACH entry, Positive Pay process and daily activity reporting
Management:
- Oversee AR & AP staff and provide backup as needed
- Assist ERP (E21) Users in their functions, interface and problem resolution
- Maintain ERP key data and function tables, work orders, pricing matrices
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with preference given with designation
- Two plus years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles
- Experience working with an ERP system, preference given with E21
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
- Ability to self-direct multiple projects, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to provide written and verbal instructions and to compile and present business reports and correspondence in a clear and understandable manner

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
