Job Title: RN-Behavioral Psychiatric
Location: New Hampshire
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $64/hourly
Mandatory Qualifications
- Active New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) License (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience
- At least 1 year of Behavioral Health, Psychiatric, or Geriatric Psychiatry nursing experience preferred
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a Geriatric Behavioral Health/Psychiatric Unit
- Perform comprehensive mental health and physical assessments
- Monitor, evaluate, document, and report changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Develop, implement, and update individualized patient treatment plans
- Facilitate therapeutic groups, patient education, and one-on-one therapeutic interventions
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic treatment environment
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
- Complete accurate and timely documentation including:
- Admission assessments
- Nursing assessments
- Progress notes
- Care plans
- Treatment interventions
- Evaluations
- Discharge planning and documentation
- CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) data
- Coordinate discharge planning with patients, families, and community resources
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and regulatory requirements
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered behavioral health care while maintaining patient dignity and safety
- Utilize EPIC Electronic Medical Records (EMR) for clinical documentation
