Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and passionate Early Childhood Infant Teacher to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will create a warm, engaging classroom environment that promotes early childhood development and learning. Your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire young children to explore, discover, and grow while building strong partnerships with families and colleagues.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum tailored to infants’ developmental stages, incorporating literacy education, physical activities, and sensory experiences
- Foster a safe, nurturing classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independence among infants
- Manage daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and play activities with patience and consistency
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and any concerns in a positive manner
- Apply behavior management strategies to support social-emotional development and positive interactions among children
- Maintain detailed documentation of each child's development and adhere to mandated reporting laws when necessary
- Collaborate with team members on lesson planning and classroom management to ensure a cohesive learning experience
Requirements
- Prior experience working with infants in a childcare or preschool setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Certification in first aid and CPR required; ongoing training in childhood safety preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members
- Ability to develop creative lesson plans and assessment that incorporate the CT Early Learning and Development Standards (ELDS) and assessment techniques using CT DOTS (Development and Observation Teaching System) and Ages & Stages (ASQ).
- Experience with behavior management strategies tailored for infants and toddlers
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations
- Classroom experience demonstrating effective classroom management skills in early childhood settings
- Knowledge of special education needs, early intervention strategies, and inclusive practices is a plus
