Summer Learning Academy Teacher

Position Overview: As a Summer Learning Academy Teacher
- Responsible for planning, implementing, and leading the educational activities of the SLA program under the supervision of the SLA program Liaison.
- Guide the academic and social development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching, and healthy learning environment that promotes progress and learning.
- Prepare lesson plans for Math and Literacy activities.
- Work with the site director/liaison to administer the Pre/Post Test for literacy and math assessments.
- Attend all required training and staff meetings.
- Instruct and facilitate lesson plans and activities and lead the classroom according to the program outline and quality requirements.
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and proper implementation of literacy and math portion of the day.
- Proactively manage classroom behavior.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students (e.g. inclusion accommodation, language strategies).
- Monitor and report to the Liaison and Site Director weekly attendance, student progress, and behavior issues.
Requirements:
- Current state teaching certification
- A minimum of two years teaching experience in early childhood or elementary education
- Bachelor’s degree required
