Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments on patients of adult age to determine their needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Administer respiratory therapies such as oxygen therapy, ventilator management, aerosol treatments, and airway clearance techniques with precision and care.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, adjusting treatments as necessary to optimize outcomes and ensure safety.
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced respiratory equipment, including mechanical ventilators and diagnostic devices.
- Educate patients and their families on respiratory conditions, treatment procedures, and preventive measures to promote ongoing health management.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans and ensure seamless patient support.
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments administered, patient progress, and equipment usage in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of California
- Proven experience in performing respiratory assessments and administering therapies in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of respiratory equipment operation, troubleshooting, and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple patient cases with attention to detail.
