Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Preschool Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. Job Duties
- Plan and prepare units of study and lessons
- Lead circle, teach individual and group lessons
- Observe and evaluate children's performance, behavior, social development, and physical health
- Establish routine, enforce rules for behavior, and procedures to maintain Montessori classroom culture
- Communicate with parents, address any question and concerns from parents and update school director with the communication and concern
- Communicate with school director on classroom update, issues and parent concerns
- Straighten and clean classrooms and any area in the facility
- Perform proper handover to AM / PM care staff for regarding the classroom students assigned
- Conduct parent conference
- Supervise, guide and train classroom assistant teachers and provide feedback to assistant teacher’s work and follow through
- Maintain accurate records for children in the assigned classroom
- Supervise nap, recess, morning and afternoon care as needed
- Engage with children; this will often mean getting down on the floor to interact with them, constantly moving around
- Attend to the personal hygiene of each child in your care, including changing diapers or soiled clothing and washing hands
- Maintain a safe environment based on safety standards set by the Center and state guidelines
- Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings is essential
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education approaches such as Montessori is highly desirable
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures for early learners and child welfare regulations
- Hands-on experience in toddler care or preschool teaching roles that showcase your ability to nurture young minds
