About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Shipping & Receiving Group Leader to oversee shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, and inventory movement. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and on-time customer shipments, efficient material handling, inventory accuracy, and team development while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in logistics, production control, warehouse operations, and team supervision. This role offers an opportunity to drive operational excellence through Lean principles, KPI management, employee development, and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and performance goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee engagement.
- Conduct employee training, performance coaching, and development activities.
- Resolve employee and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Facilitate meetings, lead problem-solving discussions, and present results to leadership.
Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Operations
- Oversee daily shipping, receiving, and warehouse activities to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensure all customer shipments are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
- Monitor warehouse processes and inventory movement for accuracy and efficiency.
- Coordinate the timely breakdown, storage, and organization of incoming materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP and warehouse management systems.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve operational performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and PDCA methodologies.
- Investigate product rejections, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Support ERP system accuracy, efficiency tracking, and alignment with production schedules.
- Manage 5S standards and workplace organization initiatives.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Complete accident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans.
- Support emergency response preparedness and related employee training.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain attendance, payroll, and employee records.
- Prepare reports, audits, efficiency metrics, and operational documentation.
- Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, to analyze and communicate performance data.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, or production control.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP systems and integrated business applications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead teams effectively.
Preferred, Not Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, PDCA, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience supporting new production line launches or facility start-ups.
- Knowledge of supply chain management, inventory control, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Training & Certification Requirements
- Successfully complete DOJO training (70% or higher) within the first 30 days of employment.
- Successfully complete SMPO training within the first 30 days and annually thereafter.
- Obtain forklift certification within the first 30 days and maintain certification annually.
