Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller specializing in welding and fabrication operations to lead our financial management and compliance efforts within our manufacturing environment. This pivotal role involves overseeing all accounting functions, ensuring regulatory adherence, and providing strategic financial insights to support operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in financial reporting, cost analysis, and managing accounting teams, with a strong foundation in both public and corporate accounting practices. Duties
- Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
- Oversee all aspects of governmental and non-profit accounting, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other relevant standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and journal entries utilizing accounting software like Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar systems.
- Conduct cost accounting analysis to monitor project budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation across welding and fabrication projects.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions; ensure timely payments, collections, and accurate cash management aligned with treasury management practices.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to uphold financial integrity and regulatory compliance; prepare documentation for audits and regulatory reporting.
- Lead the finance team in budgeting, forecasting, financial data analysis using Excel data analysis tools, and financial report writing to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in financial management within manufacturing or fabrication industries; familiarity with welding operations is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and non-profit accounting frameworks.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing accounting teams; ability to lead cross-functional collaboration effectively.
- Proficiency with accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar software; advanced Excel skills including data analysis and spreadsheet management.
- Experience with financial concepts like double entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, debits & credits, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance accounting requirements for public entities or non-profit organizations.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data; strong attention to detail for balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating with leadership on strategic initiatives.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
