Origen Bistro is seeking a friendly, professional, and reliable Server to join our team. We are a Venezuelan-inspired restaurant focused on providing high-quality food, warm hospitality, and an excellent dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Explain the menu, ingredients, preparation methods, and daily specials.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately.
- Provide recommendations and answer guests’ questions.
- Enter orders correctly into the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Check on guests throughout their meal and respond to their needs.
- Process cash, credit card, and digital payments accurately.
- Maintain clean and organized tables and service areas.
- Assist with opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work duties.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen, bar, host, and management team.
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service regulations.
- Help create a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or customer-service experience is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, positive, and professional attitude.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of food, wine, beer, and cocktails is a plus.
- English proficiency is required; Spanish is a plus.
- Must meet Louisiana’s legal requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to carry trays, plates, and supplies safely.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds when necessary.
Compensation
Hourly wage plus tips. Compensation will be discussed based on experience and availability.
