CORE Values Consulting & Solutions is a growing low-voltage and IT services company serving commercial clients across the tri-state area. We are seeking a dependable, self-motivated Low Voltage / Field Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot commercial low-voltage systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Security, Fire Alarm, Fiber, and Ethernet. The ideal candidate delivers high-quality workmanship, excellent customer service, strong mechanical aptitude, and precise documentation that follows company procedures. This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that requires regional travel, overnight stays for some projects, and the safe use of hand and power tools in varied environments.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, terminate, test, label, and document horizontal, backbone, and other cables (Cat5e/6, coax, fiber, power-limited).
· Install, configure, and troubleshoot CCTV/IP cameras, NVRs/DVRs, access control hardware, POS terminals, printers, alarm and fire devices, and other networked equipment.
· Build out telecom and equipment rooms and install cable pathway systems, including trays, racks, J-hooks, D-rings, conduit, and raceways.
· Dress and route cables into telecom closets, modular furniture, and other work area outlets.
· Perform network troubleshooting: basic switch/router configuration, PoE troubleshooting, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS verification, and basic VLAN awareness.
· Perform firestopping of cable penetrations and use appropriate anchors/fasteners for secure installs.
· Take comprehensive site photos and upload deliverables and test results to the ticketing/portal system per company standards; create timely, clear case notes in the required format.
· Follow ANSI/TIA/EIA cabling standards and the National Electric Code (NEC) where applicable.
· Use small hand tools and power tools safely and regularly make penetrations in concrete, wood, and other substrates to run and secure cables for CCTV, Alarm, Fire, Fiber, and Ethernet systems (core drills, hammer drills, masonry bits, anchors, etc.).
· Work safely at heights (man lifts, scissor lifts, rooftops) using proper fall protection and ladders; carry and lift equipment as required.
· Communicate proactively with dispatch, managers, MOD contacts and customers; escalate issues appropriately.
Required Qualifications & Skills
· Minimum 2 years hands-on low-voltage field experience (structured cabling, CCTV, access control, alarm/fire, fiber, or related).
· Comfortable and experienced using hand and power tools for penetrations, anchoring, and cable management across concrete, wood, and other materials.
· Proven ability to terminate, test, and document cabling; experience with cable certifiers, Fluke/OTDR, or equivalent.
· Experience installing/troubleshooting commercial Security systems, Access Control, CCTV, and Fire Alarm systems.
· Ability to read blueprints and follow written/verbal instructions.
· Strong mechanical aptitude, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
· Basic computer skills for ticketing, documentation, and on-site equipment configuration.
· Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills (historically preferred 4+ years of customer service).
· Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and willingness to travel overnight/regionally (90–100% travel).
· Physical ability to perform manual field work, including lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces and at heights, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
· Ability to pass applicable federal/state background checks and drug screening; willingness to become a registered security installer where required.
· Must have, or be willing to obtain, necessary PPE and basic hand tools (company will provide specialized tools, uniform, and PPE as noted).
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
· BICSI installer certification preferred.
· CompTIA A+ or Network+ or equivalent networking certification preferred.
· OSHA 10 or equivalent safety training.
· Prior experience with Bosch systems or other major vendor systems (Bosch experience noted as preferred).
· Experience with fire alarm systems (2+ years preferred).
· Familiarity with vendor portals, WorkMarket, Monday.com, Mobi or similar deliverables workflows.

Work Requirements & Additional Information
· Travel Percentage: 90–100% required.
· Must be willing to work overtime and on-call shifts as needed.
· Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug screening.
· Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather and from heights using proper fall protection.
