Position Overview
The HAAS Machine Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of HAAS CNC milling machines to produce high-quality, precision components. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a production-driven environment while maintaining strict quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate HAAS CNC milling machines safely and efficiently to meet production goals
· Perform machine setup including tooling, offsets, and basic program adjustments
· Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings
· Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure adherence to specifications and tolerances
· Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
· Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor machine issues
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company standards
· Accurately complete production documentation and communicate job status to supervisors
· Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to ensure smooth workflow and meet deadlines
· Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
Qualifications
· 1 year of experience operating and setting up HAAS CNC milling machines
· Experience with CNC program editing
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
· Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
· High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment
· Basic computer skills for data entry and job tracking
· Knowledge of aluminum or sheet metal fabrication processes is a plus
· Demonstrated punctuality and reliable attendance
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods
· Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs as needed
· Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and noise levels
