The Clubhouse Program Director will be directly responsible for managing the programs in the designated Clubhouse with the primary concerns for the programs and service delivery; staff development; supervision and training of assigned staff; assists with community relations, membership growth and administration. Ensure the coordination of program related events; manage the safe and routine use of the facilities; and collaboratively design, implement and evaluate the annual implementation of the strategic plan for the position.
Responsibilities:
Club Leadership and Development
1. Oversees and directs the overall Club programs. Conducts program evaluations; oversees the development of annual program objectives, monthly calendars and prepares relevant reports. Complies monthly statistical reports reflecting all activities. Attendance and participation.
2. Supervise, manage, and assist in delivering high-quality, engaging programming for youth daily, ensuring effective curriculum implementation and adequate support for line staff.
3. Ensure that weekly targets for Rate of Participation (ROP) and Average Daily Attendance (ADA) are met as applicable to the program.
4. Create a program schedule that includes core BGCMQ offerings such as Power Hour, STEAM activities, SEL leadership, literacy, and skill-driven sports. (Choice model)
5. Collaborate with Manager and supervisory staff to assess program effectiveness and evaluate staff performance.
6. Management of responsibility for all part-time staff members working within the Clubhouse. Areas of responsibility include (but are not limited to): hiring, employee recognition, performance management, oversight of training plans, and annual evaluations.
7. Develops and maintains friendly and cooperative relationships with the community, schools, members’ parents, and others to assist in resolving problems and to publicize the Club within the community.
8. Represents the organization and interprets its objectives, standards, and programs.
9. Completes time reporting for payroll and maintains reporting accuracy.
10. Conduct regular staff meetings and ensure proper recaps are sent in a timely manner.
Club Programs and Services
1. Oversee School Year, Saturday, Events and summer program delivery, and meet stated objectives.
2. Ensure members’ needs and interests are met.
3. Develops procedures to measure and report outcomes.
4. Ensures Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Queens standards, values, goals, and mission are understood and followed.
5. Complete at least 30 hours of training for personal professional development while meeting SACC training requirements.
6. Work with Manager to enroll line staff in SACC-regulated training (30 hours total each year).
7. Develops a culture of staff growth and personal development.
8. Observes members/programming, and works with staff to correct unsafe behaviors, to enforce safety rules and to communicate safety guidelines.
9. Assist in space rental by programming partners.
10. Conduct Funder/City site visits.
11. Conduct monthly building inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards. (Monthly Safety Procedures)
12. Actively participate in BGCMQ functions, events and training.
13. Operate the program within the approved budget restrictions; acquisition of supplies/materials
Work Schedule: Hours vary between 11:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Required skills/dispositions:
· Four-year degree from an accredited college or university; or equivalent experience
· A minimum of 3 years' work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience.
· Experience in non-profit operations management and supervision
