Travel Surgical Scrub Technician – Operating Room (OR)
We're seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Scrub Technician to join a high-performing Operating Room (OR) team in San Diego, California. This opportunity is ideal for experienced Scrub Techs, Surgical Technologists, Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs), and OR Technicians with strong Orthopedic, Neuro, and Robotic Surgery experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist during a wide variety of surgical procedures.
- Prepare, organize, and maintain sterile surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Anticipate surgeon needs throughout each procedure.
- Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts.
- Follow physician preference cards and established OR protocols.
- Assist with Orthopedic, Neuro, and Robotic surgical procedures.
- Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure.
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention and patient safety standards.
- Prepare operating rooms before surgery and assist with room turnover between cases.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and the perioperative team.
- Accurately document surgical procedures and maintain OR records.
Certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Surgical Scrub Technician Certification / CST Required
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent hospital Operating Room Scrub Technician experience
- Minimum 1 year of Orthopedic Surgery experience
- Minimum 1 year of Neuro Surgery experience
- Minimum 1 year of Robotic Surgery experience
- Previous Travel Assignment experience required
