Job Summary
Martin’s Steel Works is hiring a Foreman Ironworker / Welder to lead field crews on structural steel projects.
This role is responsible for running jobs from start to finish—managing crews, coordinating work, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to spec.

What You’ll Do
- Run jobsite and manage ironworker/welder crews
- Manage crews of 3-6 ironworkers/ welders
- Plan installs and sequence work efficiently
- Read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings
- Oversee structural steel installation (beams, columns, stairs, rails, misc. metals)
- Perform and supervise field welding (MIG, FCAW)
- Manage rigging and equipment use safely
- Complete Daily Progress Reports, Safety Meetings, DVIRs, JHA, Daily Site Safety Inspection
- Maintain quality control and ensure proper fit-up, weld integrity, install
- Enforce all safety protocols on-site
- Communicate with Martin's Project Managers and Field Coordinator
- Responsible for keeping the job safe, productive, and on schedule
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in structural steel erection and field welding
- Proven leadership experience running crews and jobsites
- Ability to read plans and manage work without supervision
- Experience coordinating cranes, rigging, and installs
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, safety-focused, and results-driven
- Valid California Driver’s License with clean record
Preferred
- AWS Certifications (D1.1, D1.8, etc.)
- OSHA 30
- Aerial Certs (Boom, Scissor, Reach Fork)
- Experience on commercial and industrial projects
