Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes using financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies for prompt resolution.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing financial statements and reports in accordance with corporate accounting standards.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict data security protocols.
- Utilize advanced Excel data analysis techniques to interpret financial data, identify trends, and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audits, ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and other regulatory standards.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Participate in process improvements related to governmental accounting practices or specialized areas like public accounting or governmental reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or public accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP principles.
- Familiarity with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or Ceridian is highly desirable.
- Strong technical accounting skills including journal entries, account analysis, account reconciliation, double entry bookkeeping and general ledger management.
- Experience with SOX compliance processes and internal controls is a plus.
- Excellent numeracy skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel—for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments and support customer service initiatives related to finance inquiries.
