POSITION TITLE: Medical Records (HIM) Part-time
RESPONSIBLE TO: COO
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Work under supervision in performing those duties necessary to carry out the daily operations of Health
Information Management as well as Telephone
Assistance.
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
DUTIES:
1. Search, pull, and scan medical records (electronically) for appointments and chart requests
2. Search, pull, and scan medical charts (electronically) when requested by physician
3. Index records to the appropriate folder in patients chart.
4. Ensure completion of telephone and electronic requests for Medical Records
5. Maintain orderliness of medical records
6. Access computer system to obtain medical record number/chart location
7. Interface with medical and administrative personnel regarding medical records
8. Obtain outside records appropriately
9. Release Medical records appropriately and timely
10. Fill out Affidavits and fulfill subpoenas appropriately
11. Abide by employee handbook
12. Adhere to policies and procedures
13. Able to understand HIPAA laws and abide by them properly
14. Able to multi-task
15. Able to work effectively & efficiently without constant instruction and supervision
16. Able to take initiative & work well with others as a member of the Medical Records “Team”.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to pay close attention to details
3. Ability to read, write, and clearly speak English (Bilingual -Spanish and English- a plus)
4. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations

Pay: $11.00 - $12.00 per hour
