- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process customer transactions swiftly and securely
- Assist customers with product inquiries, provide product demos when applicable, and upsell items to enhance their shopping experience
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods with precision and confidence
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues, and maintaining a friendly demeanor
- Support inventory management through stocking and inventory checks to ensure product availability
- Demonstrate effective phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
Skills
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
- Prior supervising experience or leadership skills in a retail setting
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and sales calculations
- Strong communication skills, including bilingual abilities preferred for serving diverse customers
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demos to engage shoppers
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail sales environments
- Excellent customer service skills combined with active listening and problem-solving abilities
