Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team on-site. This role is well-suited for a CPA candidate or active CPA who wants broad exposure across financial reporting, tax compliance, and client advisory work. You’ll work closely with firm leadership and directly with clients across a variety of industries and engagement types.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (compilations, reviews, and audits)
- Manage general ledger accounting and account reconciliations
- Oversee tax preparation for individuals, businesses, nonprofits, and pass-through entities
- Support payroll compliance and oversight for clients
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, cash basis, and modified cash basis frameworks as applicable
- Assist with external audits and financial reviews
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, explain results, and support their financial needs
- Maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy across all engagements
Qualifications
- CPA candidate or active CPA license (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
- Strong working knowledge of financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls
- Experience with nonprofit, construction, or family-owned business clients is a plus
- Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Thomson Reuters, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational, analytical, and client communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements independently and collaborate with firm leadership
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience ($55,000–$80,000+, depending on qualifications)
