Job Overview
Anchorage Marina, a private yacht club, is looking for a dependable and team-oriented Food Runner to join our restaurant staff. Unlike traditional, high-volume restaurants, our club offers a more personal and welcoming environment where staff have the opportunity to build relationships with our members and become a part of a close-knit team.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality, working with others, and has the ability to multi-task. While our restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, candidates should be able to work efficiently during busier evenings or special events.
Duties
- Deliver freshly prepared dishes from the kitchen to tables promptly while maintaining food quality and presentation standards
- Assist servers by bussing tables, clearing dishes, and resetting to ensure smooth service flow
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate timely food delivery and address any special requests or dietary needs
- Handle food handling responsibilities safely and hygienically, adhering to all food safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness in service areas and ensure all food service equipment is sanitized and organized
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Ability to connect with others and provide a friendly, positive service to our members
- Familiarity with restaurant POS systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks involved in food delivery and clearing tables
