Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Machine Shop Working Foreman to lead our manufacturing team in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment. In this role, you will oversee daily machining operations, coordinate workflow, job quoting of piece work and ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all machine shop activities, ensuring smooth workflow across CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment
- Supervise the tool crib, maintenance of tooling and inventory
- Develop and implement processes to reduce, prevent and / or eliminate errors and increase consistency
- Lead the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of CNC machines using Fanuc, Okuma, and Mazak controls and G-code programming to produce precise components
- Oversee CNC programming tasks including AutoCAD, GibbsCAM and Rhino software programming and editing to optimize manufacturing processes
- Interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately to ensure parts meet specifications
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety standards in the shop environment
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and production logs for traceability and continuous improvement
- Train and mentor team members on the proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, tooling setups, and safety protocols
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for the upkeep of CNC equipment including Fanuc, Okuma and Mazak controls and other machinery
- Support assembly operations when necessary by applying mechanical knowledge and ensuring parts are manufactured to specifications
- Conduct electrical/mechanical trouble shooting
- clearly and professionally communicate with managers, peers and subordinates.
- Additional responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machine Shop Working Foreman or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Ability to solve complex problems, ability to us good judgement to make good decisions considering the costs and benefits of strategies
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CNC G-code programming essential
- Proficiency with CAD / CAM software like AutoCAD, GibbsCAM and Rhino and general blueprint reading skills for mechanical parts
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) and grinding operations
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills combined with understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
- Ability to operate measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments
- Experience working with CNC milling machines (including Fanuc, Okuma and Mazak controls), CNC lathes, grinders, power tools, hand tools, tooling setups
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote continuous improvement initiatives
- Valid forklift certification preferred for material handling within the shop environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train team members effectively while maintaining a safe work environment.

Pay: $31.30 - $36.67 per hour
