Independent Contractor (1099) • Remote • Flexible, Project-Based
Graduate School USA (GSUSA) provides professional training for the federal workforce. We're building self-paced online courses in federal employee benefits and retirement, including the growing role of AI in benefits work, and need an experienced benefits professional to record the course videos.
- Review our finished scripts and course materials for accuracy before recording.
- Record short instructional videos (each about 4 minutes or less) delivering the scripts on camera, using your own equipment.
- Record the first video for our approval before recording the rest of the course, so we lock in the style up front.
- Make reasonable revisions and re-records at no extra cost until each video is accepted.
- Work one course at a time on a flexible schedule we agree to together.
- 8+ years in federal human resources or employee benefits administration (10+ preferred), whether as a federal HR or benefits specialist, contractor, instructor, or consultant.
- Know the material across federal retirement systems (CSRS and FERS), health and life insurance (FEHB and FEGLI), the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP), workers' compensation and disability retirement, and Social Security and Medicare coordination, well enough to deliver it credibly and flag obvious errors.
- Comfortable and clear presenting on camera (required).
- Have your own recording equipment and a quiet, professional setup.
- A credential such as ChFEBC, FRC, SHRM-CP/SCP, or IPMA-HR is a plus.
- Approximately $35 to $65 per hour.
- Independent-contractor (1099) engagement: you set your own hours and handle your own taxes and equipment.
