Job Description:
- Enter and manage customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate and dispatch loads to drivers
- Source and secure backhaul freight using load boards, brokers, and shippers
- Negotiate freight rates and manage load details to support cost-effective operations
- Monitor freight markets and opportunities to maximize truck utilization
- Communicate with drivers, customers, brokers, and shippers to ensure smooth operations and on-time deliveries
- Troubleshoot issues and make quick, effective decisions throughout the shift
- Maintain accurate and timely records of freight and dispatch activity
Job Requirements:
- Previous dispatch, transportation, or logistics experience preferred
- Training provided for the right candidate
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, dependable, and team-oriented
- Comfortable making decisions and solving problems independently
General Description of Benefits: We are looking for an Operations / Dispatch Specialist to join our team and support our daily transportation operations.
This is a 2nd shift position only, with a 2:00 PM start time and an expected end time of approximately 10:00–11:00 PM.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, a strong communicator, and comfortable working in a fast-paced transportation environment. Dispatch or logistics experience is required.
