Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen stations, including sinks, dishwashers, and surrounding areas, adhering to sanitation standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting the culinary team in a variety of kitchen functions
- Properly handle and transport heavy loads of dishes and supplies using manual handling techniques to ensure safety
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting with overall restaurant cleanliness during morning shifts
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including commercial dishwashers and related tools
- Follow all food safety management protocols to uphold health standards and prevent contamination or hazards
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices
- Strong understanding of kitchen health and safety standards, including proper knife skills and food safety procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while managing large quantities of dishes or supplies
- Excellent cleaning skills with attention to detail in maintaining sanitation across all kitchen areas
- Familiarity with operating commercial dishwashing equipment and other kitchen tools
- Experience with banquet or culinary settings is a plus, demonstrating versatility in fast-paced environments
- Good manual handling skills combined with a proactive attitude towards maintaining a safe and organized workspace
