Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using patient management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly, providing clear information and scheduling appointments with accuracy
- Verify patient insurance details, update medical records, and assist with health insurance inquiries in compliance with health regulation policies
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations and organizational standards
- Support medical administrative tasks such as data entry, appointment reminders, and documentation of patient interactions using Microsoft Office tools and EHR/EHR management systems
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely patient flow and accurate record keeping
- Assist in managing electronic health records (EHR), ensuring all information is current, accurate, and securely stored
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare environment is highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication purposes
- Strong knowledge of health regulation policies, including HIPAA compliance and health insurance procedures
- Experience with patient management software and electronic health records (EHR/EHR management) systems
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person
- Familiarity with medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical notes and documentation
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
- Basic typing skills for quick data entry and record updates
