Creative Minds is seeking an Employment Program Specialist. If you are a natural leader and work positively with others, this is a position for you. The EPS supports adults with developmental disabilities find employment within the community.
Position Duties
Under the direction of the Employment Program Supervisor, core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Scaffolding trainees to make the best employment-related decisions.
- Communicate with trainees to understand their goals and ambitions.
- Assist trainees to discover and overcome their personal barriers and set goals.
- Assist trainees with developing social and life skills.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of trainees.
- Keep records and documentation and prepare appropriate reports.
Preferred candidate characteristics
- Knowledge/experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Field experience

- Fingerprint/background clearance required - no felonies or criminal record
- Acceptable DMV record
- Valid CA Driver's License
- Working and reliable vehicle, auto insurance
- Health screening and TB clearance

Pay and Schedule
Rate of pay can be up to $19.50/hour based on experience and education. Workdays are Monday through Friday, possible weekends, 20-35 hrs per week.

Travel
Creative Minds provide services in the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valley areas. It is necessary to travel throughout these areas as part of the responsibilities associated with the position. A valid California Driver's License, Car Insurance, and a reliable vehicle are requirements. As travel through the Valley is a necessary part of the position, a mileage allowance will be provided. Services will be provided in-person.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, regularly required to walk, and occasionally required to sit.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside-weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work will be conducted at the Creative Minds ADP Inc. office and within the community at partnering sites. Employee must be able to transport self to partnering sites.
