Martha’s Vineyard is looking for a enthusiastic Cheesemonger & Food Deli Associate to join our team in the Deli Department. We are currently hiring for Morning and Mid Shifts with full-time or part-time options available.
What You’ll Do:
As a Cheesemonger & Food Deli Associate, you’ll be a key part of our deli team, cultivating and cutting cheese for the specialty cheese department and assisting our teams with deli customer service. Your responsibilities will include:
- Cutting imported and domestic cheeses
- Keeping displays fully stocked
- Assisting customers with product selection, slicing meats and cheeses, and answering questions about our wide variety of deli items.
- Keeping the deli counter and prep areas clean and organized throughout your shift.
- Restocking deli items and keeping product displays fresh, appealing, and fully stocked.
- Collaborating with your teammates to ensure smooth and efficient deli operations.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous customer service experience is required.
- Friendly and customer-focused individuals who enjoy engaging with people.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow food safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Previous deli or food service experience is a plus but not required – we will provide training for the right candidate.
- Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Minimum of 18 years of age required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Requires the use of hands for reaching, touching, or handling and fine finger movements.
- Requires the ability to push, pull, maneuver, or lift objects up to 40 lbs. frequently
- Requires the ability to bend, kneel, squat, stoop, walk, and stand for duration of shift.
- Work is performed in a retail store with quiet to moderate noise level.
- Frequently exposed to cold and hot conditions (non-weather).
- Frequently exposed to wet, slippery, or damp conditions.
- Frequently exposed to and requires the use of equipment with sharp blades or edges.
