The Borough of Edgeworth has an immediate opening for the position of part-time police dispatcher. Edgeworth Borough is a small community located north of Pittsburgh that maintains one of the few remaining in-house police dispatch services in Allegheny County. Police dispatchers are more than just call-takers! They provide a vital service as a first point of contact for residents seeking assistance with a variety of matters, while also ensuring important information is relayed to police officers during calls. The position offers a comfortable working environment, friendly atmosphere, and flexible scheduling. Applicants should be detail oriented, possess strong communication skills, and have excellent computer skills. Emergency services experience or call taking experience is preferred. Applicants must be able to maintain composure, manage confidential information, and be willing to work evenings, overnights and weekends.
