Position Summary
The Customs Division Sales Manager is responsible for generating new business and managing the sales process for complete outdoor living and backyard transformation projects. This role works closely with homeowners to design and sell custom solutions including swimming pools, landscaping, pavers, artificial turf, outdoor kitchens, BBQ areas, fire features, shade structures, and other outdoor amenities.
The ideal candidate is a motivated sales professional with experience in construction, landscaping, pool construction, or outdoor living projects who can build relationships, identify customer needs, and deliver exceptional client experiences from initial consultation through contract execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate and qualify new leads through referrals, marketing campaigns, social media, networking, and community events.
- Meet with prospective clients to assess their goals, lifestyle needs, property conditions, and project budgets.
- Develop and present customized backyard design concepts and project proposals.
- Prepare estimates, pricing, contracts, and financing options when applicable.
- Negotiate contracts and successfully close sales while maintaining target profit margins.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
Outdoor Living Design Consultation
- Guide customers through the selection of:
- Swimming pools and spas
- Landscaping and irrigation
- Pavers and hardscapes
- Artificial turf
- Outdoor kitchens and BBQ islands
- Fire pits and fireplaces
- Patio covers and shade structures
- Lighting and water features
- Recommend products and solutions that fit the client's vision, budget, and property requirements.
- Stay informed on current outdoor living trends, materials, and construction techniques.
Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the sales process.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding proposals, revisions, approvals, and project expectations.
- Develop long-term customer relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
- Deliver a high level of customer service and professionalism at all times.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with design, estimating, permitting, construction, and operations teams to ensure accurate project planning.
- Conduct site visits, measurements, and project evaluations.
- Review project scopes, plans, and specifications with clients before contract execution.
- Facilitate a smooth handoff from sales to production while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Sales Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer communications within the CRM system.
- Track pipeline activity and prepare sales forecasts.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and profitability goals.
- Provide feedback on market trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of sales experience in pool construction, landscape construction, outdoor living, home improvement, or related industries.
- Proven success in consultative sales and closing high-value projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to read site plans, construction drawings, and project specifications.
- Proficiency with CRM software, Microsoft Office, and estimating tools.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Experience selling custom pools, landscaping, hardscapes, or outdoor living projects.
- Knowledge of residential construction processes and permitting requirements.
- Design software experience (Pool Studio, Structure Studios, AutoCAD, or similar) is a plus.

Compensation
- Base Salary: $110k
