Position SummaryThe Director of Maintenance provides leadership and oversight for the maintenance, repair, safety, and appearance of all Sioux Falls Christian Schools facilities and grounds. This position ensures a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained campus while leading the maintenance team with integrity, excellence, and faithful stewardship. As a ministry partner, the Director models Christian character, fosters teamwork, and supports the mission of Sioux Falls Christian Schools.Mission AlignmentDemonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and actively supports the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of Sioux Falls Christian Schools by integrating biblical principles into leadership, relationships, and daily work.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership--Lead, supervise, schedule, mentor, and evaluate the maintenance team.--Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, servant leadership, and excellent customer service.--Build collaborative relationships with staff, administrators, and external partners.Facilities & Maintenance--Oversee preventive maintenance for all buildings, grounds, and athletic facilities.--Prioritize and coordinate repairs, maintenance projects, and work orders.--Maintain facilities that are safe, clean, attractive, and fully operational.--Manage maintenance equipment, tools, supplies, and vendor relationships.Technical OversightWorking knowledge of: --Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems--Carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance--Mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance--Coordinate licensed contractors for specialized work as needed.Safety & Stewardship--Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and school policies.--Conduct facility inspections and maintain maintenance records.--Assist with emergency preparedness planning.--Develop and manage the maintenance budget, obtain competitive bids, and steward resources responsibly.Qualifications--Demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and supports the mission and values of Sioux Falls Christian Schools.--High school diploma required; technical training, trade certification, or related degree preferred.--Five or more years of maintenance experience; supervisory experience preferred.--Broad knowledge of building systems and general maintenance practices.--Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.--Proficient with basic computer systems for scheduling, work orders, and communication.Physical Requirements--Ability to climb ladders, operate lifts, and perform physical labor.--Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.--Available to respond to maintenance emergencies outside normal working hours when necessary.
