Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our team for two to three days per week. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a passion for patient care, and the ability to work efficiently within a dynamic dental practice. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to community health while working in a supportive and professional environment.
Duties
- Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth in accordance with established protocols.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and OSHA regulations to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Support the dental team by preparing treatment areas, sterilizing instruments, and managing dental supplies.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Prior experience working in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings is preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical terminology.
- Experience with chairside assisting and medical imaging techniques is advantageous.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations, including pediatrics.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records management standards.
