Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Technician to join our dynamic environmental services team. Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors using various techniques such as floor scrubbing, buffing, waxing, and refinishing to restore their appearance and prolong their lifespan
- Handle cleaning chemicals and floor cleaning agents safely and effectively, following all safety protocols and manufacturer instructions
- Operate cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and floor polishers to ensure optimal results
- Conduct manual handling tasks such as lifting heavy equipment or furniture during cleaning operations
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, common areas, offices, and other designated spaces by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces
- Apply floor care treatments like waxing or sealing to enhance durability and appearance
- Respond promptly to special cleaning requests or spillages to uphold cleanliness standards at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred; janitorial experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including scrubbing, buffing, waxing, carpet cleaning, and floor refinishing
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly with proper understanding of chemical agent handling procedures
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking throughout shifts
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment operation including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuum cleaners, and carpet extractors
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude towards clients and team members
- Commitment to environmental safety practices by using eco-friendly cleaning products when possible
