DC Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete all necessary safety training provided by Elite ICT
- Complete all necessary technical training provided by Elite ICT
- At all times, maintain safe work practices as outlined in the Elite ICT Safety Manual, as well as other safety and quality directives issued by Management
- Read and understand general Elite ICT project and safety documents
- Operate hand and power tools
- Operate trucks, trailers, and other equipment
- Analyze, plan, layout and assign installation activity to other installation personnel. Act as subject matter expert on provisioning, activating and testing 24 and 48 volt DC electronic equipment. Work will involve the installation of cable, wiring, and related equipment in Central Office and other Telecom environments. Installers should be familiar with and/or are trained with iron work/bays/equipment rack installation, blueprint/schematic reading and method of procedures (MOP).
- All on-site aspects of DC Power equipment installation, including safety, paperwork, leading junior crew members, customer interaction and overall accountability for assigned projects.
- The DC Power Technician must advise management and customer of any safety concerns that might jeopardize other personnel or the network before proceeding.
- Perform assigned work in a safe manner, following all company and customer safety procedures and adhering to published standards while always being mindful of sensitive nature of customer's network and negative impact of an unplanned service disruption.
- Knowledgeable of customer standards as they apply to assigned projects.
Position Requires:
- High school diploma or GED, technical degree preferred
- Five or more years related work experience as a lead installer: ladder rack installs, DC cabling experience, large power plant installs
- Ability to work on ladders, demonstrated manual dexterity, and lift and carry loads up to 40 lbs
- Work well within a team demonstrating leadership abilities
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to follow published standards and safety procedures
- Adaptable to changing environments, schedules, or project requirements
- Clean driving record
- Willing to travel extensively (75-100%) and on short notice
- Able to work overnight during approved maintenance windows
- Proficient with common computer applications and digital tools
- Knowledge of or certification from OEM's such as Emerson, Enersys, Alpha, or similar
