EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Combo Welder for one of our Industrial Maintenance Job sites in Plaquemine, LA. Qualified candidates must be proficient in multiple welding processes and committed to producing high-quality work while maintaining a safe work environment.
Responsibilities:

Perform welding tasks using a combination of different techniques, such as TIG, MIG, Stick, and Flux Core, depending on project requirements.

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to comprehend welding specifications and assembly needs.

Fabricate and assemble metal structures, equipment, and piping systems through the precision welding of components.

Select the appropriate welding methods, materials, and equipment based on the type and thickness of metals.

Prepare surfaces for welding by cleaning, grinding, and removing scale, slag, and other impurities.

Securely position and clamp workpieces using jigs, fixtures, or other positioning tools.

Safely operate welding equipment to create precise and high-quality welds.

Inspect welded joints for defects, ensuring compliance with welding codes and industry standards.

Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as fitters and inspectors, to achieve accurate assembly and installation.

Assist in setting up and laying out welding projects, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up.

Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Combo Welder in industrial environments.

Strong Proficiency in multiple welding techniques, including TIG, Stick, and MIG welding, with an emphasis on stainless steel.

Ability to pass weld testing.

Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

Comprehensive understanding of metallurgy, welding processes, and industry standards.

Keen attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality welds.

Physical capability to work in various positions, including bending, stooping, and lifting heavy materials.

Must be able to pass a pulmonary function test (PFT) and any other required site-specific medical screenings.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to welding.
