The MD, Head of PFI Capital Markets role oversees the relationship development for the private fixed income (“PFI”) platform (Corporates, Infrastructure, ABS and CTLs) to increase origination growth and business development. This leader will be responsible for helping to grow the PFI business by developing relationships to support investment pipeline creation, expansion, and execution. The role will involve working closely with investment professionals across both private and public asset classes to help support them in building and developing key relationships with portfolio credits, financial intermediaries, and potentially clients.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, sponsors, potential issuers and other sources to source private placement investment opportunities
- Evaluate and develop a deep pipeline of investment opportunities, and work with internal investment team to drive investment execution
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions to identify new investment opportunities across the private market including: corporate, infrastructure debt, ABS and CTLs
- Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and enhance visibility and reputation of the PFI team and the entire Nuveen investment platform
- Collaborate across the Nuveen investment platform when appropriate to ensure all investment opportunities that are relevant are evaluated

POSITION SUMMARY:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- An undergraduate degree with academic coursework in finance, economics or accounting and an outstanding record of academic achievement
- Minimum of 7 years of private markets investing and/or sourcing experience
- Extensive knowledge of corporate, infrastructure debt, asset backed securities, credit tenant loans and generally financial markets risk and pricing, 10+ years preferred
P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in finance or economics
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Business development and relationship management expertise
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Creativity and intellectual curiosity
- Ability to work independently and must be able to work effectively in a team environment

Base Pay Range: $222,000/yr - $300,000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
