Job Summary: The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing intensive clinical therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with identified behavioral health diagnosis. Licensed therapist will assist with the specific mental health needs of the identified client as they relate to their diagnosis.
The duties and responsibilities of the Rehabilitation Specialist position include but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure compliance with COMAR 10.63.03.09, 10.63.03.10, 10.21.21, 10.21.29, contract terms, policies, and procedures
- Educates the direct care staff on how to provide services which correspond to the client’s IRP goals
- Develop initial and concurrent individualized rehabilitation plans based on the client’s rehabilitation assessment for clients which involve measurable terms and target dates for goals associated with client's needs and strengths, as described in COMAR 10.21.29.06, and obtain required signatures
- Conduct rehabilitation plan reviews evaluating rehabilitation goals every three-six months to document the client’s progress towards the reduction of functional behavioral impairments and restoration of skills, perceived barriers, and goal changes as needed
- Complete the required screenings and assessments as described in COMAR 10.21.29.05 & 10.21.29.06, if needed, and/or oversee the designated staff for this task
- Review the contact notes and monthly summary completed by the worker as described in COMAR 10.21.29.06, and ensure the documentation is filed in the record
- Maintaining the ratio of 1:10, per COMAR 10.21.21.12
- Providing supervision to the assigned direct care staff weekly
- Participate in mandatory monthly staff meetings, and administrative meetings, as needed
- Communicate weekly with supervisor regarding program oversight
- Complete client case record reviews
- Submit documentation for biller to input concurrent authorizations – Initial and Concurrent, Discharges
- Complete prognosis section of discharge summary
- Create client folders as related to intake duties
- Reviews all increased visit request and advises supervisor of recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned
- Provides insight and recommendations regarding operations and program effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSW or MSW in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling from an accredited college or university.
- Licensed as a LBSW, LGPC, LMSW or a LCSW-C or LCPC
- Certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification; or
- Certified by the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association
- Have three years of experience in the mental health field, specifically working with adults and children with DSM-5 disorders.
- Have three or more years of supervisory experience.

Schedule:
Monday-Saturday – 20 hours per week
