As our project load expands, we are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bookkeeping Specialist to manage our daily financial data, track project profitability, and keep our office running smoothly.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a sharp, construction-savvy Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our financial tracking—ensuring our daily entries, project profitability sheets, KPIs, and job costs are perfectly accurate. The ideal candidate has deep experience in construction bookkeeping, understands job costing, and thrives in an active contractor office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Core Bookkeeping: Process all daily bookkeeping entries, manage bank and credit card reconciliations, and maintain an accurate general ledger.
- AR/AP Updates & Reports: Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. Process vendor invoices, manage subcontractor payments, generate weekly cash flow/aging reports, and ensure lien waivers are collected.
- KPI Updates & Reporting: Update and maintain company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to provide management with clear weekly and monthly visibility into business health.
- Project P&L & Profitability Sheets: Regularly update project profitability sheets and CRM financial data. Keep job costing precise so we always know our actual margins vs. estimates.
- Insurance Audit Preparation: Maintain flawless records for worker’s compensation and general liability to ensure smooth preparation and compliance for annual insurance audits.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of dedicated bookkeeping experience specifically within the construction or roofing industry (Required).
- Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (Online) and experience updating construction CRM workflows.
- Excel Skills: Strong Excel skills are necessary for managing and modifying our project-specific profitability sheets.
- Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction job costing, progress invoicing, and subcontractor compliance.
