Compensation
Traveler Gross Weekly Package: $2,520.00
- $23.00/hour taxable rate
- $1,554/week lodging & M&I stipends
- Permanent tax home must be 50+ miles from the facility
Local Gross Weekly Package: $2,415.00
- $57.50/hour
- Permanent tax home must be less than 50 miles from the facility
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – DOU (Direct Observation Unit) for a short-term contract assignment in Tustin, CA.
This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with strong DOU, PCU, SDU, or progressive/acute care experience who is comfortable working night shifts and floating to other inpatient units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to acute-care patients in a DOU/step-down environment.
- Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in clinical condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to established protocols.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Accurately document patient care using AllScripts.
- Float to Telemetry and MedSurg units as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection-control practices.
Requirements
- 2+ years of recent Acute Care RN experience
- Recent experience in DOU, PCU, SDU, Progressive Care, or Step-Down
- Must be comfortable floating down to Telemetry/MedSurg as assigned
- Active California RN License
- AHA BLS
- AHA ACLS
- NIHSS Certificate
- Strong acute-care assessment, monitoring, and clinical decision-making skills
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours/week
- 3 × 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend and holidays as assigned
