We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and dedicated Home Caregivers to provide personalized, non-medical assistance to our private-pay clients throughout the Baltimore area. This role is essential to our mission of helping seniors and individuals with disabilities maintain their independence and quality of life in the comfort of their own homes.
Compensation: Highly competitive pay of $17.00/hour
Employment Type: Part-Time and Full-Time (Flexible Scheduling)
Key Responsibilities (Duties & Tasks)
Caregivers must be able to perform the following duties with dignity, respect, and professionalism:
- Personal Care Assistance (ADLs): Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and incontinent care.
- Mobility Support: Provide safe transfer and mobility assistance, including use of wheelchairs, walkers, Hoyer lifts, and assistance with prescribed range-of-motion exercises.
- Medication Reminders: Offer verbal reminders to clients to take their self-administered medications on time (Caregivers do not administer medication).
- Meal Preparation & Nutrition: Plan and prepare nutritious meals according to client dietary restrictions and preferences, and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Light Housekeeping: Perform light housekeeping duties essential to the client's safety and comfort, such as laundry, washing dishes, and tidying common areas.
- Companionship & Engagement: Provide stimulating companionship, including reading, conversation, playing games, and encouraging mental and social engagement.
- Errands & Transportation: Safely transport or accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, and other community activities.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document all provided services, changes in client condition, and any unusual incidents using the agency's care management software.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of documented experience in home care, facility care, or direct support professional roles.
- Certification: Current and valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or a Home Health Aide (HHA) is preferred, but equivalent experience is considered. Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
- Regulatory Compliance: Must pass a thorough background check (federal and state), drug screening if necessary, and complete all required Maryland state training modules.
- Health: Must be physically capable of safely performing transfers and mobility assistance. Valid TB test (or willingness to obtain one).
- Professionalism: Punctual, reliable, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and a compassionate, empathetic demeanor.
- Logistics: Must possess a valid driver's license or ID, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance, if applicable.
