Chief Financial Officer

About the Role
UFCW Community Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, investments, and asset/liability management. This leadership role works closely with the CEO, Board of Directors, auditors, regulators, and senior team to support financial strength, compliance, and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
· Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and regulatory reporting.
· Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, variance analyses, and strategic recommendations to leadership and the Board.
· Manage investments, liquidity, interest rate risk, asset/liability management, and related Board reporting.
· Lead and develop accounting staff while supporting efficient workflows and strong departmental performance.
· Coordinate with auditors and examiners to ensure compliance with GAAP, FASB standards, and applicable regulations.
· Support insurance, tax, audit, vendor, purchasing, and other financial operations as needed.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred or equivalent experience.
· Minimum of five years of relevant accounting or finance experience; bank or credit union experience preferred.
· CPA preferred but not required.
· Supervisory experience and the ability to lead, coach, and develop staff.
· Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, audits, regulatory compliance, and credit union operations.
· Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial systems.
