Part-Time Budtender

Position Summary
We are looking for friendly, knowledgeable, and customer-focused individuals to join our retail team as Part-Time Budtenders. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, and is interested in providing an exceptional cannabis shopping experience.
Budtenders are responsible for welcoming customers, understanding their needs, providing accurate product information and recommendations, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant retail environment.
Candidates must be willing and able to work at either our Oakland or Richmond location based on business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet every customer with a welcoming, professional, and positive attitude.
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a comfortable shopping experience for all customers.
- Learn and maintain knowledge of cannabis products, including flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, vaporizers, edibles, and other product categories.
- Listen to customers and provide thoughtful product recommendations based on their preferences and needs.
- Clearly communicate product information, promotions, pricing, and available discounts.
- Accurately process customer transactions and responsibly handle cash and other approved payment methods.
- Follow all required procedures for verifying customer eligibility and identification.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable state and local cannabis regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate cash-handling practices and follow all point-of-sale procedures.
- Assist with restocking, organizing, displaying, and maintaining merchandise.
- Support inventory accuracy and report discrepancies or concerns to management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Participate in required training and maintain current product and compliance knowledge.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, managers, security personnel, and fellow team members.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Must meet all legal age and eligibility requirements for employment in a licensed California cannabis retail business.
- Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, or sales experience preferred.
- Previous cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
- Comfortable recommending products and supporting sales initiatives.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Ability to learn and retain detailed product information.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain regular attendance.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be willing and able to work at either the Oakland or Richmond location based on business needs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.
Compensation
$18.00 per hour, plus tips and commissions.

Schedule
This is a part-time position. Shift lengths and weekly schedules vary based on store staffing and business needs. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
