We are seeking a dependable 2nd Shift Paint Line Lead/Bilingual is a plus, to help lead daily powder coat line operations in a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on working lead role responsible for keeping the line running safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily powder coat line activities to meet production, quality, safety, and delivery requirements.
- Provide direction to approximately 6-8 employees during the shift. Assign team members to work areas and help balance labor across the line. Ensuring work instructions, PPE requirements and all safety protocols are followed.
- Identify and communicate quality, material, staffing, or production concerns.
- Maintain accurate production records, downtime notes, scrap/rework information, and other required documentation.
- Communicate shift performance, concerns, and handoff information to supervision.
- Support attendance, discipline, employee performance, and daily accountability.
Qualifications:
- Previous powder coat experience preferred. Forklift certification, respirator clearance, and powder coating certification or formal powder coat training preferred.
- Prior lead, trainer, or supervisory experience required.
- Ability to read and understand production schedules, work instructions, and quality requirements. Familiarity with MRP systems preferred; Plex experience is a strong plus.
- Good communication skills with operators, supervisors, quality, maintenance, and other departments.
- General familiarity with wash systems, ovens, conveyor paint lines, blueprints, customer specifications, part drawings, lean manufacturing, 5S, root cause problem solving, and continuous improvement is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull approximately 25-30 lbs. as required.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, grip, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Ability to work around powder coating equipment, chemicals, ovens, moving conveyors, forklifts, pallet jacks, and production equipment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirator, steel-toe shoes, or other protective equipment.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment with noise, heat, dust, and varying temperatures.
Pay: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
