Pharmacy Technician - Call Center
Work Location
Position will be onsite in Cary, NC during training, with the possibility of transitioning to a hybrid schedule based on business needs and performance.
Job Summary
The Customer Care Representative serves as the primary point of contact for inbound customer calls, helping minimize workflow interruptions by resolving non-clinical inquiries such as prescription status, payment information, and insurance verification.
This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate documentation and timely coordination with internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer inbound customer calls regarding prescription status, billing, insurance, and general account inquiries.
- Make outbound calls to schedule medication deliveries and collect payment information to ensure timely shipment.
- Respond directly to customer inquiries or route calls to the appropriate department for prompt resolution.
- Document accurate and concise progress notes in the customer management system.
- Assist customers with refill requests, prescription shipment status, insurance verification, and invoice requests.
- Answer patient questions during refill scheduling and transfer clinical questions to pharmacists or nurses when appropriate.
- Identify and report adverse events (AEs) and product complaints (PCs) to the clinical team to support patient safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Responsibilities may vary slightly depending on the assigned team or program.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 1 year of high-volume call center experience.
- North Carolina pharmacy technician license required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Accurate data entry and documentation skills.
- Ability to type at least 35 WPM.
