Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and facilitate positive behavioral change.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety.
- Provide specialized support for clients with co-occurring disorders, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD, chronic pain, addiction issues, and gender-related concerns.
- Document all clinical interactions accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards; maintain detailed medical records using appropriate medical terminology and ICD coding.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive care plans.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC), licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), psychologist or equivalent in the applicable state or region.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavior management techniques or addiction counseling.
- Demonstrated telehealth experience with proficiency in telehealth therapy platforms and remote patient engagement tools.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic purposes; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus.
- Experience working with children, adolescents or geriatrics; familiarity with special education needs is desirable.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention skills; experience in inpatient or outpatient settings preferred.
- Excellent clinical documentation skills adhering to medical documentation standards; understanding of HIPAA compliance and ethical guidelines for mental health practice.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions; experience with behavioral health research is advantageous.
