Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will evaluate and treat patients across diverse settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and community health environments. Duties
- Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop comprehensive care plans tailored to their needs, including assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Implement therapeutic interventions for individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders like autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities
- Support discharge planning by coordinating care transitions from inpatient to outpatient or home health settings
- Provide therapy services in various environments including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits
- Document patient progress accurately using electronic health records (EHR) management systems while adhering to medical terminology standards
- Collaborate with speech therapists, physical therapists, physicians, educators, and case managers to optimize patient outcomes
- Assist in early intervention programs for pediatric populations and work with students with disabilities or special education needs
- Contribute to case management efforts by monitoring patient progress and adjusting care plans as necessary based on evidence-based practices
- Must be able to complete evaluations.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices
- Experience working with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder
- Proficiency in medical documentation and familiarity with medical terminology
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and supporting patients’ independence in daily routines
- Ability to develop and implement personalized care plans across diverse settings including acute care, inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and schools
- Experience in discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care coordination
- Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) management systems for accurate documentation
- Familiarity with pediatric therapy techniques and working with children with disabilities or special education needs
- Competence in delivering evidence-based practice tailored to individual patient needs
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and engaging patients effectively
