About Us
Grove Homes is a custom home builder based in Alpine, Utah, focused on high-end residential work. Our projects range from elevated farmhouses to historic restorations, and the finish carpentry is where our homes are won or lost. We are a small, tight team of about a dozen people, which means the right person will have real ownership over their work and a clear path to grow with the company.
The Role
We are looking for a finish carpenter who can do it all. This is a hands-on, tool-bags-on position. You will be producing exceptional trim, millwork, built-ins, doors, hardware, stairs, and custom details across multiple custom home projects. Over time, the role will also grow into coordinating and managing finish carpentry across all of our projects: scheduling, quality control, working with our project managers, and eventually leading other carpenters.
Today, the need is production. We want someone efficient, self-directed, and capable of incredible work. In 5 to 10 years, we want that same person running the finish side of our business.
What You'll Do
- Execute high-end finish carpentry: casing, base, crown, wainscot, ceiling details, custom built-ins, stair rail systems, interior and exterior doors, and hardware
- Read plans and interior design documents and translate them into flawless finished work
- Solve problems in the field, including period-correct details on restoration projects
- Coordinate finish scopes, sequencing, and material takeoffs with project management
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe jobsite and represent Grove Homes well in front of clients
- Over time, help schedule, review, and direct finish carpentry across all company projects
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of finish carpentry experience, with custom or high-end residential work strongly preferred
- Strong eye for reveals, margins, scribes, and the details that separate good from exceptional
- Reliable, self-managing, and productive without someone standing over you
- Interest in growing into a leadership role as the company grows
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift materials and work on active jobsites daily
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
