We are seeking an energetic and highly skilled Apache Solr Lead / Architect to drive the design, development, and optimization of enterprise search solutions using Apache Solr. Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end architecture and development of Apache Solr-based search solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into robust technical designs aligned with business goals.
- Design and implement cloud-native search architectures utilizing AWS, Azure, or other cloud platforms to optimize deployment and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain APIs for search functionalities using RESTful services, ensuring secure and efficient data access across applications.
- Integrate Solr with various data sources such as NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra), relational databases (MySQL, Oracle), and external APIs.
- Establish best practices for software architecture, including design patterns, microservices, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps processes for continuous delivery.
- Provide technical leadership on solution architecture involving service-oriented architecture (SOA), system design, and cloud architecture principles.
- Mentor team members on Solr configurations, tuning strategies, and emerging technologies to foster a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading large-scale Apache Solr implementations within enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server).
- Hands-on expertise in cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Azure, with knowledge of cloud architecture best practices.
- Proficiency in designing RESTful APIs and integrating them with web services using frameworks like Spring Boot or similar.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies including Agile SDLC processes and version control tools like Git or SVN.
- Deep knowledge of system design principles, design patterns, microservices architecture, and solution architecture best practices.
- Experience working with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes for scalable deployment.
- Strong programming skills in Java; familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Bash is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
