Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on ABA principles to support clients with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Collect and record accurate behavioral data during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, and toileting, promoting independence and skill acquisition.
- Support clients in educational settings by reinforcing teaching strategies and behavior management techniques aligned with their care plans.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by securely managing medical records and documentation related to client care.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members to ensure consistency of care and progress updates.
- Follow ethical guidelines outlined in the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts to ensure high standards of practice.
Skills
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques, behavior management strategies, and implementing ABA therapy protocols.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data accurately for progress tracking.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management related to client care.
- Skilled in assisting with ADLs and supporting clients’ skill development in home-based or school settings.
- Excellent client communication skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism at all times.
- Familiarity with confidentiality standards such as HIPAA to ensure privacy and security of sensitive information.
